SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2010- The Nina J. Spicer Foundation hosted, A Glimpse Into The Future,
First Annual Battle of The Salons promoting cancer awareness at The Hyatt Regency Hotel
downtown Atlanta.
The Nina J. Spicer Foundation was created in honor of Nina J. Spicer after her untimely death
due to liver and lung cancer. Nina J. Spicer was a 33-year old mother of three who was an active
member in the Atlanta Entertainment Community. Nina endured several rounds of chemotherapy
and numerous medical procedures. Through all of her struggles she kept her faith and remained
active but, eventually succumbed to her illness July 1, 2007 at the age of 33.
The Nina J. Spicer Foundation’s mission is to help mothers and young girls to reach their goals.
The foundation will provide educational programs, motivational programs and financial
assistance for those affected by cancer.
The evening was filled with live performances, vendors, hair tips and a touching speech by
Nina's daughter. The winner of the Battle was New Dimensions Hair Salon.
