On December 10, 2007 attendees gathered downtown at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta for the unveiling of the 10th
contemporary R&B and Jazz ensemble, Five Men on a Stool.
The ceremony was emceed by Mark Hayes of Fox 5’s Good Day Atlanta and Trumpet Award founder, Xernona Clayton.
The event saluted the Atlanta Living Legends- Rev. Joseph E. Lowery, Henry “Hank” Aaron- and Jesse Hill, along with
all 47 of Atlanta’s Men of Distinction including Bishop Eddie Long, Rick Caffey and Otis Story.
This 10th Atlanta edition is not only historic because it celebrates a landmark anniversary, but also because it features
tributes to 100 Black Men, the Tuskegee Airmen and Morehouse College plus a foreword penned by Atlanta’s own
playwright, director and actor, Tyler Perry. Also introduced in this edition is the “1,000 Books, 1,000 Kids” campaign.
This program was created to ensure that at least 1,000 Who’s Who books infiltrate the school systems and reach
children of all ages to show them the various career options that are available to them.
