On April 11, 2011, JubileeMag.com was invited to a private press dinner with Pooch Hall
Pictures film 'Jumping the Broom'. It's a story about two families of very different
socioeconomic backgrounds getting together on Martha's Vineyard one weekend for a
wedding.
'Jumping the Broom' stars Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Laz Alonso, Loretta
Devine, Meagan Good, Pooch Hall, Tasha Smith, Mike Epps and Romeo Miller.
It's produced by T.D. Jakes and Tracey Edmonds and is directed by Salim Akil,
director of BET's 'The Game.'
Before our dinner, Meagan and Pooch visited the campus of Clark-Atlanta University and
became a trending topic on Twitter. Over 500 students came out to catch a glimpse of
the starlets, whose presence caused a near riot on campus as they signed hundreds of
autographs in the hot sun.
Next they headed to our press dinner at Strip (Atlantic Station). We were treated to lamb
chops, jerk shrimp skewers, mini turkey burgers, and a grilled chicken satay platter with
thai peanut sauce.
Megan was warm and transparent about her nerdy childhood, her interest in portraying Whitney
Houston in her life story, gave relationship advice, and revealed her passion and urgency for producing
faith-based projects. Checkout exclusive video footage of Megan's statements.
Pooch was vibrant, humble and definitely the gentleman you'd think he'd be. He shared relationship
advice and details about what working with Angela Basset meant to him as it related to his mom.

The two ended the day at a special college screening of JUMPING THE BROOM. “That
was actually my first time seeing it,” said Pooch. “I’m incredibly proud to be a part of this
film.” The JUMPING THE BROOM HBCU Tour continues this week with stops at NC A&T,
Florida A&M and Howard University.
JubileeMag.com is specifically excited to endorse 'Jumping the Broom' because it
exemplifies a quality film with a faith-based message. The principles of saving yourself
before marriage, forgiveness, and the up and downs of 'leaving and cleaving' are all
ingeniously embedded throughout the film.
On opening weekend (May 6th / Mother's Day), bring your family, friends, co-workers,
singles group, married couples, sorority and frat brother's and let's show the executives
we want to see more films like this!
