Starring Tony Award Winning Actress, Cynthia Erivo (Widows, Bad Times at the El Royale), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Murder on the Orient Express), Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures, UglyDolls), and Joe Alwyn (The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots), HARRIET tells the true story of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and ensuing freeing of over 300 slaves, with the guidance of GOD and her heroic faith-fueled expedition – earning her the iconic nickname of “Moses”. I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that! Let’s not forget she also was the first women to lead an armed expedition in the war. Talk about exceptional!
HARRIET is directed by Kasi Lemmons (Luke Cage, Talk to Me) who wrote the screenplay with Gregory Allen Howard (Remember the Titans). The film follows Tubman as she travels nearly 100 miles to escape from slavery – praying for direction and strength along the way – and her subsequent missions to free dozens of slaves through the Underground Railroad in the face of growing pre-Civil War adversity.
